Yes Baby Arthur Alexander Wall has finally arrived. He came September 23 at 3:21 pm weighing a whopping 8 lbs! He has what we call "peach fuzz" on his head - reddish blond hair. Oooo it's delightful fuzz to nuzzle and pet.
As you can expect, we're all getting adjusted at home. John is turning out to be the most amazing big brother. It's as if he has shifted from demanding attention to giving attention and care taking. He begs for cuddle time with his little brother and wants to help with anything. Its precious and I'm trying to store up the memories for I know life goes by too quickly.
It's finally beginning to be sweater weather around here - well, at least for a few days before it goes back up to the 80s. We're enjoying it and soaking it up while we have it and looking forward to more. I'm ready to go on cozy walks with my boys.

Back in the middle of August I was inspired by Contemplating Change's beautiful Icelandic sweater she was knitting. Isn't it beautiful? I can't wait to see the finished garment.
Well, I decided that I needed to make one of my own. So I dug out Elizabeth Zimmermann's wonderful book, "The Opinionated Knitter" and looked up the recipe for her Icelandic Sweater.
Next I went to KnitPicks (remember I was still on home rest so I couldn't go out) and found the perfect yarn! Andes del Campo It turned out to be absolutely perfect for the project and fantastic yarn.
It knit up quickly! And soon I was at the dreaded steek - but I whipped through that.
Button bands were quickly knitted up ....
...and buttons chosen.
Ah, satisfaction! Don't you love it when you are inspired by something and it turns out just as you hoped? Now, I'm awaiting cooler weather before I can wear my lovely sweater.
What have you been inspired by lately?

Hello Friends! We're still waiting for baby! 38 weeks now - perhaps we'll make it full term with this little guy. Although, honestly, we feel like we've been waiting on the edge of our seats for a while now and we're getting impatient.
As my tummy has gotten bigger and the baby heavier the weather has gotten hotter! Ugh! Bad combination! We've managed to find a few things to do - bike riding at Grandma's house was a big hit. I sat and knitted.
..And admired the first of the autumn leaves...
We danced in the rain when it came... and prayed for more rain. It's been so dry here.
We went fishing on Labor Day per John's request...
And I knitted...
And we dreamed about kayaking and cooler weather...
This week we have JK's birthday to distract us and the promise of cooler weather at the end of the week - really cool weather! We can't wait to be outside again! And so the wait continues....
